Charles Chikhani’s Rose, March 21st 2008
On the occasion of Mothers Day –March 21st 2008-
We, Charles Chikhani’s Friends, have launched a
campaign entitled: “Charles Chikhani’s Rose”.
The idea of the campaign was the result of our
desire to support Charles’ Mother on that
painful day which happens to fall exactly 6
months after his departure.
The campaign included a TV and radio spot,
addressing all Lebanese mothers and particularly
the victims’ mothers. The message delivered was
simple. A cry from the heart, OUR heart, to all
mothers: “You worry for your children and we
worry for you”.
On that specific day, thirty volunteers wearing
white shirts grooved the Lebanese land to
express their solidarity to the families of
bombing victims starting Minister Marwan Hamadé
blast to the last one that killed Colonel Wissam
Eid.
These volunteers, divided into 11 groups,
visited the mothers and wives of victims,
offering them a white rose. From North to South,
the Chouf to the Bekaa valley, “Charles’ rose”
entered their homes with a simple message “we
are thinking of you”.
